This is Love...

I just had to post the link this video (once the link opens, click on the little camera next to Mike's name) our friends, Mike and Erin sent us... It shows them completing the Nike Women's Marathon in San Fransisco. Together this amazing couple not only ran a grueling 26.2 miles, but sold their precious artwork to raise $3950 to help fight breast cancer! Mike and Erin comprise one of the most loving unions on God's green earth... their mutual adoration is absolutely palpable. I couldn't help but tear up when I watched them run across the finish line hand-in-hand... and then, just before they step from the camera's view, lean in for the sweetest little celebratory smooch. I just adore these two, and am so thankful that the kind of LOVE they share exists in this world!
Congrats again, you two!!!

As I climbed into the car this sweltering October afternoon I was met with the site of these gorgeous flowers...


...and a sweet love note from my Isaac. And to make his note EVEN SWEETER, he included a voucher for a couple's massage we are having this weekend at the Talise Spa at Madinat! I am SO excited! Not only for my incredible massage, but knowing I have such a loving, adorable, thoughtful hubby!










The flowers fit in perfectly with our Fall decorations. Here's a tiny sneak peek of our decorations...



I made this little bat garland, and I must say I AM SO PROUD OF IT! I just love how happy the glittery little bats look dancing along our curtain rod...







We had such a fabulous time putting up our Halloween/Fall decorations last weekend. I'll get some more photos up soon!


We just returned from our second photo shoot with the American Business Council. We were asked to document the Emirati Alumni of US Universities event. The gathering took place at the gorgeous Opera Museum (the ONLY gallery in the Middle East that regularly displays masterpieces) in the Dubai Financial District. The 2-story gallery was packed, and we had a wonderful time mingling with the guests and capturing all of their friendly exchanges with one another.

New York, part 1: Yankee Stadium

Jenni and I took a trip to the Big Apple in August, and while she cracked the books at the teacher's college of Colombia University, I hopped on the subway and checked out the sites of NYC. In part one of our New York series, I head for the Bronx to see the infamous Yankees/Red Sox rivalry at the newly constructed Yankee Stadium.

So Long Cuddler Series

So long Cuddler Series... our new couch arrived yesterday. Hooray! It is soooooooo comfortable and sooooooooo beautiful! Definitely glad we decided to go for it.





The cats were a bit hesitant about the new couch at first...








So they examined it cautiously from EVERY angle...
























Then, they rediscovered the mirror and examined themselves for a while...









I get the impression from this image that Miller knows how handsome he is!















Bella had no trouble finding a cozy spot...




Neither did Isaac for that matter! =)




It was a little sad to say goodbye to our Cuddler Series sofas. They've served us well for our first 3 years in Dubai. Luckily, I didn't have to let them go completely... the big sofa and oversized chair are now in my awesome classroom. How cuddly will our reading time be now?! The kids are going to flip on Sunday when they see them!
